We’re a small kiwi (that’s slang for ‘a New Zealander’) family with a long passion for adventure travel, the great outdoors and the New Zealand countryside.

Like many, we’ve ventured with our backpacks to all of the world’s 7 continents and visited some pretty special places in that time. We've also visited nearly every inch of New Zealand and continue to do so all of the time too. Some 25 years ago we found Glenorchy to rank right up there with some of those best places, and better still we found it in our own backyard (in New Zealand) !

Not only does Glenorchy appeal to us visually as a very beautiful place, it also still holds an old-world charm not seen in New Zealand for 30+ years. Glenorchy is rural/wilderness in outlook, has an especially friendly and hospitable local population, offers an end-of-the-road peacefulness and quietness, is largely undeveloped and most importantly still offers the freedoms we once had as children growing up in rural New Zealand a generation ago.

Our Glenorchy home is a special place for us to unwind and relax, to get outdoors and to use as a base for enjoying the southern part and wilderness areas of New Zealand. From time-to-time we let out our home to other like-minded people from New Zealand and from all parts of the world. Any revenue received is used simply to cover the costs of the home’s upkeep, and thereby in-turn allowing us to continue to offer this kind of accommodation to people visiting Glenorchy - especially families.

Our home provides a no-frills ‘get back to nature’ place to stay minus the excesses of city living. We are able to offer a cost-effective alternative for families and groups, and have all of the group assembled in one living space and be self-sufficient.
